Top 3 Places to Go For a Weekend
From City Breaks to Beach Escapes

You'll probably find yourself sitting there wondering what to do at the weekend. You'd love to go away somewhere, but you're not quite sure where. Well, here's my definitive list.
1) Absolutely F*cking ANYWHERE
Yep, that's my opinion.
All these 'top 3 city breaks' and 'top 5 weekend beach destination' lists are mostly bullshit. Sure, some do include cool places that are worth going to, but they also mostly pretend that if somewhere isn't on that list, it's not worth visiting.
Truth is (in my experience anyway), you can go literally ANYWHERE, for a few days, one night or even for a day, and if its good enough value (that is you think 'wow' for the price you paid), it's worth going. End of.
For example, here are some actual trips I've done for only a few days:
Spanish Pyrenees - 2 nights, £110
All inclusive hotel in Bulgaria - 2 nights, £175
Gothenburg inc. Breakfast - 2 nights, £150
All of those trips were just ones I found for time I had free, saw the flights worked and the accom was class for the price, and just thought 'why not?'
I've done more than the 3, but those 3 give you a bit of an idea of the sorts of trips you can just piss off for a few days on. No real plan, not expensive, just... go.
Why Not?
Realistically, you'd probably spend £100+ on a night out these days. You'd just see it as 'what things cost'. I'd rather spend that on a trip away to somewhere new, have a laugh, have some cheaper drinks and some different food, different weather and come home again.
If you have a bit of money that you'd probably spend anyways, why not just go somewhere? It's surprisingly easy to do, and my plan is to do as much of it as I can over the next 5 years.
Thanks for listening to my TED talk. That's some idea of my view on travel, trips I like to go on and why I think more people should and can.
If you like the idea of doing it too, join the club! I share trips like those above (and flights / general opinions on places too0
